Volkswagen Brand Introduction

Volkswagen is the core brand of the Volkswagen Group, Europe’s largest automaker, which encompasses 12 subsidiary brands. The Volkswagen brand operates in over 140 markets worldwide and manufactures vehicles at more than 29 locations across 12 countries.

Volkswagen is known as the most distinctive, open, and human-centered brand. This is because Volkswagen strives to set the standard in the global automotive industry by adhering to four core values: "Breathtaking Perfection", "Relentless Innovation", "Lifelong Companion", and "Responsibility towards Humanity and the Environment." Volkswagen is committed not only to delivering best quality, affordability, and technological innovation but also to expanding the perception of cars as an integral part of life.

The history of Volkswagen began in the 1930s when Dr. Ferdinand Porsche developed a car for the German people. The car that emerged from this effort was the iconic Beetle. Following this, Volkswagen made a significant impact on both the German and global automotive markets, especially with the Golf, which heralded the era of hatchbacks. The compact yet powerful Golf became a new paradigm of the automobile, transcending class and age, and eventually became one of the best-selling cars in the world.

Today, alongside bestsellers like the Golf, Polo, T-Roc, Tiguan, and Passat, Volkswagen has successfully introduced the ID. family of pure electric models, including the ID.3, ID.4, ID.5, and ID.7, continuing the brand's legacy of "Cars for All" into the era of "EV for All." In 2023, Volkswagen delivered approximately 4.9 million vehicles to customers worldwide, including over 390,000 electric cars.

Through its "ACCELERATE" strategy, Volkswagen aims to lead the way in sustainable mobility and become a brand truly loved by its customers by refining its model lineup and focusing on customer-centric services. This also includes offering reasonably priced products for all. By 2027, Volkswagen plans to launch a total of 11 new electric models, ranging from compact models priced below EUR 25,000 to family sedans, making it the brand with the broadest electric vehicle lineup among all automakers. Additionally, Volkswagen is intensifying its electrification strategy while continuing to develop key internal combustion engine models such as the Golf, Tiguan, and Passat, which play an important role in the product portfolio until 2033, when it will exclusively produce pure electric vehicles in Europe.
