KAIDA presents the 5th KAIDA Academic Award

  [2020. 11. 20] On November 19th, the Korea Automobile Importers & Distributors Association (KAIDA) presented the 5th KAIDA Academic Award at the 2020 Annual Autumn Conference of the Korean Society of Automotive Engineers (KSAE), held in Jeju Shinhwa World. The award ceremony was held during the general meeting of the conference. Daniel Rim, Vice Chairman of KAIDA, presented the award to Professor Hoimyung Choi of Gachon University. The KAIDA Academic Award has been running since 2016 as part of an industry-academia cooperation program. It is awarded to authors of outstanding research papers published in the KSAE’s Korean journal, Transactions of KSAE. Each year, the Editorial Committee of the KSAE selects a winner by evaluating published papers’ quality and contribution to the industry, and KAIDA gives the winner the award and prize money. During the ceremony, KAIDA Vice Chairman Rim said, "It means a lot that KAIDA Academic Award has reached a five-

Stronger cooperation and exchange expected for global EV industry development

  IEVE, KAIDA and GEAN sign an MOUAimed to increase cooperation for building global EV infrastructure and the industry’s sustainable development  The International Electric Vehicle Expo (IEVE) and the Global EV Association Network (GEAN) will step up their practical cooperation with the Korea Automobile Importers & Distributors Association (KAIDA) for the development of the global electric vehicle industry. The IEVE, GEAN and KAIDA signed a memorandum of understanding on mutual cooperation at a ceremony held on December 9 at the International Convention Center Jeju, located in the Jungmun Resort Complex in Seogwipo City, Jeju Island, where the 7th International Electric Vehicle Expo is being held. The signing ceremony was attended by KAIDA Chairman Rene Koneberg, IEVE and GEAN Chairman Kim Dae-hwan, and other officials and guests. Signing the MOU, the three organizations have made a commitment to spearheading the development of industries related

KAIDA Appointed Rene Koneberg as Chairman

  Managing Director of Audi Volkswagen Korea Rene Koneberg appointed as the 14th Chairman of the associationKAIDA to carry on the work in earnest alongside with election of Vice-Chairman and Director  [Oct. 28, 2020] Korea Automobile Importers & Distributors Association (hereinafter KAIDA) held a Extraordinary General Assembly Meeting on October 27 in a conference room of the association office located in Gangnam, Seoul, and appointed Managing Director of Audi Volkswagen Korea Rene Koneberg as the 14th Chairman.  Rene Koneberg, who will be in charge of the association as a new Chairman until March 2022, has led AVK to sustainable growth by making efforts to transform internal, external of the organization and collaborating with its four brands as the Managing Director of Audi Volkswagen Korea in September 2017. Rene Koneberg has already worked as a Vice-Chairman of KAIDA since 2018; he has pursued common goals and revitalization of the association

KAIDA Voted for Suspension of the Chairman’s Duty

 [July 29, 2020] Korea Automobile Importers & Distributors Association (KAIDA) announces the stance on the recent press report about KAIDA Chairman.  FCA Korea President & Managing Director Pablo Rosso was appointed as a Chairman of KAIDA for a two-year term in a regular general meeting in March this year. However, we called an emergency meeting on July 28 and voted for suspending Mr. Rosso from his duty, considering he cannot perform his job in regard to the allegations mentioned by the press recently.  At the same time, we will take further follow-up measures if needed as soon as investigation results come out.  The allegations mentioned by the press come from FCA Korea, where Mr. Rosso acts as a President & Managing Director, and are unrelated to KAIDA.
