KAIDA Voted for Suspension of the Chairman’s Duty

 [July 29, 2020] Korea Automobile Importers & Distributors Association (KAIDA) announces the stance on the recent press report about KAIDA Chairman.  FCA Korea President & Managing Director Pablo Rosso was appointed as a Chairman of KAIDA for a two-year term in a regular general meeting in March this year. However, we called an emergency meeting on July 28 and voted for suspending Mr. Rosso from his duty, considering he cannot perform his job in regard to the allegations mentioned by the press recently.  At the same time, we will take further follow-up measures if needed as soon as investigation results come out.  The allegations mentioned by the press come from FCA Korea, where Mr. Rosso acts as a President & Managing Director, and are unrelated to KAIDA. Daniel Rim appointed Vice Chairman of KAIDA

 [2020.04.06. Seoul] The Korea Automobile Importers & Distributors Association (KAIDA) appointed Daniel Rim, Executive managing director of Ssangyong Motor as the Vice Chairman of KAIDA. With the new Chairman, Vice-Chairmen and directors of KAIDA appointment on 25th of March, Mr. Rim will serve as Vice Chairman of KAIDA for two years from 18th of May 2020. Mr. Rim holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from University of Michigan Engineering School and pursued MBA from Wayne State University, both located in Michigan USA. Pablo Rosso appointed Chairman of KAIDA

[2020. 3.25. Seoul] The Korea Automobile Importers & Distributors Association (KAIDA) held General Assembly Meeting of 2020 at Le Meridien Seoul on March 25, 2020, and appointed Pablo Rosso, President & Managing Director of FCA Korea as the 13th Chairman of KAIDA. With the new vice-chairmen(Dimitris Psillakis - President&CEO Mercedes-Benz Korea, Rene Koneberg - Managing Director of Audi Volkswagen Korea, Takemura Nobuyuki - President&CEO of Toyota Motor Korea) and directors(Jung-hyun Baek - Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover Korea, Kwang-cheol Kim - CEO of FMK Corp.) of KAIDA, Mr. Rosso will serve as Chairman of KAIDA for two years from April 2020.  Mr. Rosso, the first foreigner Chairman of KAIDA, has served as President & Managing Director of FCA Korea since 2013. Korea Automobile Importers and Distributors Association High technical skills and transparency are key to the specialized automotive maintenance service industry

[2019. 12. 02] The Korea Automobile Importers and Distributors Association (KAIDA) has urged a move to consumer-centered policies, emphasizing that proven technical skills and reliable transparency are critical for the automotive maintenance service industry. This is with a view to designating the specialized automotive maintenance service industry as the industry suitable for supporting small business owners. KAIDA expressed their concern that the market can significantly decline if the specialized automotive maintenance service industry is designated as the industry suitable for the livelihood of small business owners, because it reduces consumer welfare and further shake the virtuous cycle of the auto industry.   The “Special act on designating the industry suitable for the livelihood of small business owners (Suitable Business Act)” encourages the increase of small business owners with five or fewer employees, while restricting the conglomerate for expandin
