[Mar. 24, 2021] Korea Automobile Importers & Distributors Association (KAIDA) published KAIDA Factbook, which provides the current state of the import car industry and relevant information. The factbook was made to help enhance the understanding of the import car industry and the market by sharing facts about KAIDA and the industry and their activities. KAIDA is planning to publish it annually. The publication will be made into print books and be distributed to relevant institutions, and its contents will be available online at KAIDA website (https://www.kaida.co.kr). The factbook contains organization of KAIDA, major issues in the government’s automotive policies, current state of the import car industry, import car statistics, automotive regulations and policies, and so on. KAIDA website launches ‘user-select’ statistics service
Enables extracting specific data as needed from import car databaseProvides user-tailored statistics by various search options [Mar. 8, 2021] KAIDA has launched a new ‘user-select’ statistics menu on its website (https://www.kaida.co.kr). The new menu provides a query service that enables individual users to extract specific statistical data as needed and preferred, from the database that KAIDA has been compiling since 2003. It will offer greater user convenience and upgraded analysis of data by allowing users to choose statistical items by themselves, while putting an end to a fragmentary and one-way service. Users can obtain statistical data by selecting items they need, among vehicle brand, model, engine displacement, price, vehicle type, fuel type, country, region, consumer type and age group. 434 imported CVs newly registered in December
[Jan. 26, 2021] KAIDA announced that 434 imported commercial vehicles (CV) were newly registered in December 2020. By brand, MAN marked 107 new registrations, Mercedes-Benz 49, Volvo Trucks 151, Scania 97, and Iveco 30.
274,859 imported PCs newly registered in 2020
[Jan. 6, 2021] KAIDA announced that new registrations of imported passenger vehicles (PC) marked 274,859 in 2020, increased by 12.3% from 244,780 in 2019. The number of new registrations in December 2020 was 31,419, up by 14.5% from November (27,436 units) and by 4.5% from December, 2019 (30,072 units). In 2020, the number of new registrations by brand were: Mercedes-Benz 76,879, BMW 58,393, Audi 25,513, Volkswagen 17,615, Volvo 12,798, Chevrolet 12,455, MINI 11,245, Lexus 8,911, Jeep 8,753, Porsche 7,779, Ford 7,069, Toyota 6,154, Land Rover 4,801, Lincoln 3,378, Honda 3,056, Peugeot 2,611, Nissan 1,865, Cadillac 1,499, Maserati 932, Citroen 930, Jaguar 875, Infiniti 578, Lamborghini 303, Bentley 296, and Rolls-Royce 171.
